Jack Ensell named to NECBL's Week 4 Honor Roll

HOLYOKE – Valley Blue Sox right-handed pitcher, Jack Ensell (UMiami), was named to the NECBL’s Week 4 Honor Roll on Monday. Ensell’s appearance against the Newport Gulls on June 24 earned him this honor as he gave up only 2 hits and allowed no earned runs in two innings pitched. 

During the 2026 collegiate baseball season, Ensell pitched for Barry University, where he threw 58.1 innings and struck out 69 batters. 

This summer with the Blue Sox, Ensell has appeared in seven games, allowing just four hits and four runs. Throughout this season, Ensell has had 17 strikeouts in eight innings pitched and has been a reliable closer for this team. 

“I know what my role is [and] it’s a little easier on preparation knowing what I have to do game in and game out,” Ensell said after he closed out Valley’s game against North Shore back on June 19. 

Jack Ensell will be a critical part of this Blue Sox team as they look to fight their way back into a playoff position, as Valley is currently on a four-game losing streak and sits in fifth place in the South Division
